Solemn opening of Animal Rights Foundation

March 8, 2019 admin

On March 8, we set another step, through which we solemnly initiated / promoted the establishment of our foundation.
We’ve had the honour to have had the LAV (Lega Anti-Vivisezione) organization with us on that day, which also, since the founding of our organization (in April 2018), it committed as partner organization of the Animal Rights Foundation. The LAV organization will be with us in the next steps and projects as a scientific and technical partner in the operational projects/activities that we will of course implement and carry on consistently in Kosovo.
In addition, the other partner organization, ATB (Association of Trentino con i Balcani), was with us and helped financially to organize the event. We are really grateful of their support and their work in Kosovo since 20 years.

This event, though symbolic, puts a “quite heavy burden” on our shoulders, which has repeatedly challenged and continues to challenge our courage to advocate and lobby within our society for those who have no voice (non-human animals)! However, this does not change our conviction that animal rights can be transformed from a philosophy into a social movement that challenges the traditional views of the society that all non-human beings exist only for human use/purposes.

This event is also the cornerstone of cooperation with relevant organizations and relevant institutions such as LEGA ANTI Vivisezione, Trentino con i Balcani Onlus (ATB), straycoco.com – im Einsatz für Strassenhunde , Stiftung für das Tier im Recht (TIR), Kosovo Small Animal Welfare, GAIA Kosovo – as well as public institutions such as: the Food and Veterinary Agency of the Republic of Kosovo; The National Coordinator for projects related to stray dogs; Department / Veterinary Institute at the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary of the University of Pristina; as well as the Municipality of Pristina.

We thank once again Mr. Gianluca Felicett (the President of the LAV organisation), Simone Stefani, Sara Carlin and Luisa Bertoli of LAV Trentino for their visit to Kosovo and their significant support and collaboration. We also thank our guests, partners and supporters for motivating us during this hard journey to protect and fight for animal rights.
