The Animal Rights Foundation, in cooperation with Kosovo Small Animal Welfare, Straycoco – Einsatz für Strassenhunde, and the Municipality of Prizren have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, through which a huge step is made on population management of the dogs in this municipality.
As can be seen in the pictures below, these possibilities will be created through this agreement that states:
– Registration of dogs / creation of a database (through a chip) in the Municipality of Prizren, in cooperation with KAFV..
– Creation of a municipal regulation, which obliges citizens to register their dogs.
– Castration /Sterilization of dogs with owners (200 of them), from Kosovo Small Animal Welfare, which will be done through an awareness campaign, in cooperation with the Municipality of Prizren.
– Construction of a temporary care center from the Municipality of Prizren; which is legally foreseen in the Administrative Instruction 05/2017 – determining the technical conditions for the construction of the temporary treatment center for stray dogs.
All of these are expected to be concertized through activities agreed by the working group, which will draft the regulation mentioned, and will determine the duration of the activities and projects listed above.
