Since the news of the 9-year-old girl who was bitten days ago by a dog on the street, we have made a request to meet with the Cabinet of the Hoti Government, to discuss the topic of stray dogs.
Today we had the pleasure to meet with deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Besnik Tahiri, to talk about the measures that should be taken to mitigate the breeding of dogs on the streets, with the most humane methods possible.
In this meeting, it was discussed about the measures that should be taken to solve this long-standing problem, which in addition to endangering the well-being of dogs, also endangers public safety and health.
We agreed to hold an inter-institutional meeting within 7 days, together with KVFA, to agree on immediate measures to be taken for long-term solution of this problem.
As we have mentioned before, our organization already has a concrete plan for long-term solutions to this problem, so we thank Mr. Besnik Tahiri who has taken the time to meet with us and listen to us, as well as his willingness to seriously engage so that this issue is resolved once and for all.
