Pristina decided to build a ‘Temporary Care Center’ for stray dogs!
On December 24th, we have had a very productive meeting with the Municipality of Pristina, in regard to the construction of a Temporary Care Centre for the stray dogs in the Pristina Region.
Such centers are foreseen by our legislation, more concretely by the Administrative Instruction 05/2017 – which sets out the technical conditions to be met by the Centers for Temporary Treatment of stray dogs.
They are also expected to have the key function of a sustainable system that would provide a dignified and genuine treatment to the stray dogs.
These centers, according to the applicable law, will have as a primary service: the castration / sterilization, immunization/vaccination against all possible diseases and the release of dogs, again in the places where they have been caught (CNVR). So, it is not to be confused with a closed and permanent foster for stray dogs!
Such institutions will have the stray dog population under control and will provide them with a dignified treatment.
We as a NGO will be by the municipality’s side and for sure will engage with our contribution as much as necessary, in order for this project to be successfully accomplished and helping to create a financial and managerial sustainability!
Alongside all this, a system of awareness should be presented to citizens and schools of lower (and middle) education in Kosovo.
We are very grateful to the group of Pristina Municipality that are engaging in the rights of stray dogs and for having their doors open for us NGOs as well. More concretely, we would like to thank: Mrs. ArdianaGjinolli, Mr. Adrian Berisha and Mr. Dren Kukaj.
